010 BUILDING received the Fukuoka City Urban Landscape Award in the Architecture Category for 2023.

Fukuoka City Urban Landscape Award

The Fukuoka City Urban Landscape Award aims to improve urban landscapes and raise citizens’ awareness of urban landscapes by honoring owners, designers, constructors, and other related parties of buildings, structures, and other properties that are recognized as contributing to the formation of urban landscapes. In 2023, a total of eight submissions were selected for the Grand Prize, Citizen’s Prize, Category Awards, and Special Prizes from among more than 300 entries.

010 BUILDING is located on the waterside of the Naka River, which connects Fukuhaku and Fukuoka. 010 BUILDING’s spiral exterior, realized through the collaboration of Japanese and American architects, changes continuously day and night, creating a new attraction for Fukuoka’s waterfront area. The project was also highly evaluated for its creation of a rich public realm on the ground floor that connects the waterfront to the city by elevating the theater, a closed large space, to the upper floors.
